PNN – Boeing signs $289 million deal to sell smart bombs to Israel.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, while Israeli and American airstrikes continue on various regions in the Middle East, including Iran, the American company Boeing announced the signing of a new contract worth $289 million to sell 5,000 smart bombs to the occupied territories.

This deal, which was made in silence, has raised new questions about the role of arms industry giants in perpetuating conflicts in the region.

According to informed sources, the bombs known as “SDB” (Small Diagonal Bomb) are capable of being dropped by Israeli fighter jets on targets from a distance of more than 64 kilometers.

Although Boeing and media outlets close to it emphasize that the new shipments will be delivered within 36 months and are not related to current operations, critics believe that any reinforcement of the arsenal of a party involved in regional conflicts means being a firebrand and contributing to its humanitarian consequences.

Boeing, which won the Pentagon’s $8.6 billion contract to sell F-15 fighter jets to Israel last year, has, as always, declined to comment on the humanitarian and political dimensions of the sale.

This silence comes at a time when human rights organizations have repeatedly warned against the use of US-made weapons in attacks against civilians.

The United States, which presents itself as the largest arms supplier to its long-standing ally in the Middle East, continues to shape its regional policies by giving the green light to these arms deals; a policy that, according to experts, not only does not contribute to peace and stability, but also fuels the fires of proxy wars and regional tensions.

Israel has used bombs sent by the US to carry out a massive bombing campaign in Gaza, killing tens of thousands of civilians.
