Bolivia’s attack on US global policies and genocide in Gaza.
According to Anadolu Agency, Arce accused Washington of causing suffering and death worldwide in his speech at the UN General Assembly in New York on Thursday night, saying that “genocide is currently taking place” in Gaza with the decisions of the US and Israel.
The Bolivian president warned that “there is a threat of death in the Middle East,” adding that the aim of the US and Israeli actions in the Gaza Strip is to “accelerate the displacement of the Palestinian people in the shortest possible time.”
Stating that “the drums of war have been sounded today,” he said that US President Donald Trump and other power structures in the United States have an “insatiable thirst” to cause suffering and death in the world.
Referring to the deployment of US military equipment and forces to the southern Caribbean Sea, Arce said: “The threat of death has engulfed Latin America and the Caribbean.”
The Bolivian president added that the US claims to be “fighting drug trafficking and organized crime” in the Caribbean, but “if that were true, it should have started the fight in its own country.”
He called the presence of US fighter jets and warships in the Caribbean a pretext for “militarizing the region” and “interfering in Venezuela.”
Arce stressed that the US goal is “to control Latin America and the Caribbean through the weakening of democracy, the expansion of militarism and colonial tactics.”
He noted that the world continues to struggle with the consequences of wars, blockades, and unilateral sanctions that violate the principles of the United Nations.
