PNN – Former EU foreign-policy chief says EU states are still supplying weapons to Israel; condemnation alone is not enough and action must be taken.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network citing Al Jazeera, Josep Borrell, the former EU foreign-policy chief, said on Tuesday that action must be taken against Israel, adding that condemnation is not enough. He stressed that the use of starvation as a weapon is a crime and a clear violation of international law.

Borrell continued that EU member states are still providing weapons to Israel, and that all available leverage must be used to reach a solution in the Gaza Strip.
He then claimed that the UN Security Council resolution passed yesterday could be an opportunity and should be seized, calling it a starting point.
The UN Security Council met Monday night in New York (early Tuesday in Tehran) to discuss the draft resolutions on Gaza proposed by the United States and Russia. The U.S. draft was adopted with 13 votes in favor, while Russia and China abstained.
The resolution provides the legal basis for creating a peacekeeping mission and an international force to help stabilize a ceasefire in Gaza.
