Boycott movement in support of Palestine forces closure of all KFC branches in Türkiye
According to zamin.uz, the activities of the Boycott of Western Brands movement in support of the oppressed people of Palestine led to the closure of all branches of the American fast food chain KFC in Turkey.
According to this Uzbek media outlet, following the bankruptcy of the KFC franchisee in Turkey, İş Gıda, the American chain closed all 537 branches in the country.
İş Gıda has declared bankruptcy with a debt of 7.7 billion liras (about $214 million). The closure of the branches of this fast food giant chain led to the unemployment of about 7,000 people. KFC has been operating in Turkey since 1989.
