PNN – The students of the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil (USP) by joining the wave of global protests against Israel’s crimes and supporting Palestine, demanded the end of their country’s academic cooperation with the universities of the occupied territories and the termination of diplomatic relations with the Zionist regime.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network from the RT website, the students of the University of Sao Paulo set up a camp in protest of the massacre of the Palestinian people by the Zionist forces, which has killed more than 34 thousand people in the last seven months. This initiative was organized by various institutions under the organization of the Committee of Students in Solidarity with the Palestinian Nation (ESPP-USP) with the support of the faculty and staff of this university.

The protesting students called on other academic institutions as well as the federal government to sever all ties with the Israeli regime. According to the organizers of these demonstrations, these protests mean abandoning the current academic agreements and any relationship with Tel Aviv.
The committee explained: In particular, the Faculty of Philosophy, Literature and Humanities (FFLCH) should decide to end its cooperation with the University of Haifa (Israel) as soon as possible.
The committee also demanded the cessation of any administrative action against the students protesting in favor of Palestine.
This organization, which organized the gathering of Brazilian students, stated: The media tries to equate Zionism with anti-Semitism and resort to this narrative as a justification for persecuting the Palestinian solidarity movement.
Ana LuÃsa Tibério, a member of the Graúna group of the Workers’ Party and a member of the student committee in solidarity with the Palestinian people of the University of São Paulo, announced that the protests of the next few days will show solidarity around the “Palestinian cause” and a radical action.
This speaker, who is a master’s degree student in political science of this university, added: In addition to showing our solidarity, we want to pressure the university to break the agreement with Israeli universities that support and finance the ongoing killing in Palestine.
These activities of Sao Paulo University students are expected to continue until May 9. A workshop will be organized by members of the Jewish Voice for Democracy group, one of the institutions that support students of this university; There will also be a debate on international solidarity with the Palestinian cause and a musical event with Palestinian pieces.
The protest of Brazilian students is in line with the wave of demonstrations against Israel’s bombings in Gaza, which began at Columbia University in the United States and today has spread to more than 100 American universities and more than 900 universities around the world.
