Britain: Hamas response is an important step forward.

From the ABC, Keir Starmer wrote on social media X: We support the efforts of US President Donald Trump, which have brought us closer to peace than ever before.

He continued: There is now an opportunity to end the war, return prisoners home and send humanitarian aid to those in need. We call on all parties to implement this agreement without delay.

The British Prime Minister stressed: The UK, along with its partners, is ready to support further negotiations and efforts to achieve a lasting peace for Israelis and Palestinians.

According to IRNA, in response to Trump’s ceasefire plan, the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) agreed to a complete cessation of hostilities, a prisoner exchange, and the independent administration of Gaza, and called for the future of Gaza to be considered within the framework of the Palestinian national interest.

US President Donald Trump said on Friday evening local time, “Based on the statement that Hamas has just issued, I believe they are ready for a lasting peace. “Israel must immediately stop the bombing of Gaza so that we can release the hostages quickly and safely! Right now, it is very dangerous to do so. We are currently discussing the details that need to be worked out. This is not just about Gaza, but about the peace that we have long sought in the Middle East.”

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres welcomed Hamas’ conditional response to US President Donald Trump’s plan for Gaza, calling it encouraging.
