Britain: Palestinian territory should not be reduced.

Hamish Falconer, the British Deputy Foreign Secretary, reacted on Wednesday to the proposal of Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz to transfer the two million population of Gaza to Rafah by posting a message on the social network X, writing that he was “astonished” by his proposal.

Stating that “the Palestinian territory should not be reduced,” he added: “Civilians must be able to return to their communities and homes. We must move towards a ceasefire agreement and open the way for lasting peace.”

In recent days, the Israeli media has reported that Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz has presented a plan to forcibly transfer residents of the Gaza Strip to Rafah in the south of the region. According to reports, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of the regime has also agreed to the plan; an action that has caused widespread international reactions and is recognized as a clear violation of international law.

Meanwhile, British Foreign Secretary David Lammy claimed in a separate message that the government was trying to reach a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.

Referring to his consultations with the Omani Foreign Minister on this issue, he wrote: “We have used all our diplomatic efforts to help achieve a ceasefire in Gaza. Oman remains a reliable friend and a key player in the region. The conversation with the Omani Foreign Minister was very important in advancing this vital goal.”

According to IRNA, the Zionist regime has launched a devastating war against the Gaza Strip since October 15, 1402, which has so far led to the martyrdom of more than 57,000 Palestinians and the injury of tens of thousands. In these attacks, Gaza’s vital infrastructure, including hospitals, schools, water and electricity networks, and residential areas, has been targeted and hundreds of thousands of Palestinians have been displaced.
