PNN – British Defense Secretary Grant Shapps’ office announced Thursday that he will travel to Tel Aviv this week to discuss Israel’s “next steps” in the Gaza war.
According to the report of the International group of Pakistan News Network, in the situation that the West supports the Zionist regime in the war against Gaza, the British defense minister is going to go to occupied Palestine in the coming days.
The Grant Shops office announced in a statement that the British Defense Minister will visit Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories during this week (until Monday next week according to the solar calendar).
According to the British Ministry of Defense, Shapps’ purpose of this trip is to try to consult about sending humanitarian aid to the residents of Gaza faster by sea.
“During this trip, he will discuss with the leaders options for providing more aid to civilians in Gaza and how the UK can support the Palestinian Authority, as well as efforts to prevent an escalation of tensions in the Middle East,” the statement said.
The British Ministry of Defense continued by repeating the hostility of the West to the Palestinian Islamic resistance: “He will also discuss progress on the release of hostages, including a number of Britons held hostage by Hamas terrorists in the October 7 attacks.”
Grant Shapps’ trip to Tel Aviv and Ramallah takes place in a situation where the British Prime Minister had already visited Tel Aviv. Western countries have been supporting Israel since the beginning of the Zionist regime’s war against the Palestinians.
In its statement, the British Ministry of Defense tried to make a gesture of philanthropy and tie Shops’ trip to this issue. The ministry’s statement reads: “With Palestinian civilians experiencing a growing humanitarian crisis, the Secretary of Defense will outline options for providing additional humanitarian and medical assistance to Gaza, including possible routes by land, sea and air. To date, four flights of the Royal Air Force (UK) have landed in Egypt carrying more than 74 tons of aid to help the Palestinians.
The British Defense Minister said on the eve of this trip without condemning the killing of civilians, including Palestinian children and women. “We fully support Israel’s right to defend itself, but it is important that its fight against Hamas terrorists remains within international law.”
Shaps is supposed to meet with Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant in Tel Aviv to discuss the current security situation and Israel’s next steps.
This trip takes place in a situation where, according to Tel Aviv statistics, the Palestinian resistance forces killed 1,200 Israelis and captured 240 people on October 7 (Operation Al-Aqsa Storm).
After this operation, the authorities of the Zionist regime launched severe attacks on Palestinians living in Gaza at the same time as they intensified the inhuman siege of this area. Attacks that left more than 16,200 martyrs.
The British Defense Minister’s plan to visit the region was made in the context of the fact that in the last two months, various British cities have repeatedly witnessed public protests against Israeli attacks and in support of the Palestinian people. Protesters in these rallies repeatedly condemned the British government’s support for Israel and the British authorities’ failure to support the ceasefire in the Gaza war.
