British Jewish historian accused of supporting Hamas and accusing Israel of genocide.
The Zionist newspaper Haaretz recently published an article by Avi Shlaim, a famous British Jewish historian and a serious critic of the Zionist regime’s occupation, in which he announced that he no longer believes in Zionism and has turned to supporting the “Hamas Movement” due to Israel’s genocide in the Gaza Strip.
Shlaim stated in his article that the Palestinians are living under the longest and most brutal military occupation in modern times and have the right to resistance, including armed defense against the Zionist aggressors.
Referring to “Operation Storm Al-Aqsa”, he stated that the Gaza resistance fighters at that time would not have committed war crimes even if they had taken the situation out of the control of the Zionist regime.
This famous Jewish historian considered Operation Storm Al-Aqsa to be the result of decades of occupation by the Zionist regime, and pointing out that the “Balfour Declaration” is a classic colonial document that ignores the rights of 90 percent of the indigenous Palestinian population; He described it as a major strategic error, even from a British perspective.
Shlaim stated that Israel was trying to simplify the issue of the occupation by describing Hamas as a “terrorist organization,” and emphasized that this movement is part of Arab society and that no solution to the Palestinian-Israeli issue can ignore this movement.
The British historian added that he has always emphasized that the Zionist regime is an institutionalized colonial system that implements a brutal system of apartheid, and that the current government (the cabinet of Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of the Zionist regime) is the most right-wing and racist government in its history, which has adopted a clear policy of ethnic cleansing.
