British Prime Minister on a phone call with Pezeshkian: Do not attack Israel!

According to Reuters, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, in a telephone conversation with Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian, asked him to “refrain from attacking Israel” and further said that war is not for anyone’s benefit.

Reuters wrote that Starmer spoke to him as part of efforts to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East. Tel Aviv’s action in the assassination and martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas’s political office in Tehran, who had traveled to Iran to attend the swearing-in ceremony of doctors, has increased the fear of a retaliatory attack by Tehran. In contrast, Westerners and supporters of the Zionist regime in the days after Haniyeh’s martyrdom, Tehran’s restraint has been demanded from various channels!

According to Sky News, which published the news of this conversation for the first time, the mentioned telephone conversation lasted 30 minutes and was done after Starmer’s conversation with Joe Biden, the President of the United States and other European allies.

Reuters wrote that Starmer expressed deep concern about the situation in the Middle East in a conversation with Pezeshkian and called on all parties to de-escalate to avoid the escalation of regional tension.

In this conversation, Starmer claimed that there is a serious risk of miscalculation and now is the time for calm and careful reflection. The focus should be on diplomatic negotiations.

Also, according to Reuters, Starmer, like his allies in Europe and America, asked Iran to stop what he called “destabilizing actions” in the region. He also once again repeated the false claim of the West about Tehran’s help to Moscow in the war in Ukraine!

Starmer’s phone call with the doctors comes at a time when Tel Aviv’s fear of a possible Iranian attack has increased. Previously, John Kirby, the spokesman for the National Security Council of the White House, announced that “Iran’s attack on Israel may be massive.” Tehran has always emphasized its legal right to respond to the “aggressor”.

Amid widespread concern over the possible attack, many airlines have canceled or reduced flights to Tel Aviv. Also, many countries have asked their citizens to leave the occupied lands and Lebanon immediately.
