PNN – The British newspaper The Times claimed that the country’s Prime Minister will likely present a plan to recognize the state of Palestine this week.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing TASS, the Times wrote that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is expected to present a plan to recognize the state of Palestine this week.
The newspaper attributed the British Prime Minister’s possible move to increasing pressure from the ruling Labour Party, led by Starmer. According to the Times, members of Starmer’s cabinet are pressuring the British Prime Minister to recognize the state of Palestine in order to fulfill the Labour Party’s election promise.

The party returned to power in July 2024 after general elections with this promise. The Times noted that about 130 MPs from the ruling party are calling for the recognition of the state of Palestine.
The newspaper quoted Starmer’s spokesman as saying that he had shared with European leaders a plan he was working on to bring about a lasting peace in the coming days; a plan to recognize the inalienable right of the Palestinians to an independent state.
