Burrell: Europeans should be ready to reduce US aid to Ukraine

PNN – The head of the European Union’s foreign policy warned the EU countries about the possibility of a reduction in US aid to Ukraine and the need for these countries to prepare to compensate for this reduction.

According to the International group of Pakistan News Network, “Joseph Burrell”, the foreign policy official of the European Union, emphasized that Washington’s aid to Kyiv will probably decrease, saying that the members of this union should have the necessary political preparation to compensate for this decrease.

“We have a lot of problems,” Borrell said while speaking at the Congress of the Party of European Socialists in Malaga. “The first problem is Ukraine, while we no longer expect a quick victory for Ukraine over Russia.”

This European Union foreign policy official said in the continuation of his speech: “It is very likely that American aid to Ukraine will decrease, so European countries that have the necessary measures should have the political will to continue supporting Ukraine and compensate for the reduction in American aid.”

By presenting the assessment that EU aid to Ukraine was more than US aid to this country, Burrell claimed: “Our main security guarantee to Ukraine should be the acceptance of this country into the European family; Something that the European Union needs unity to do.”

The official of the European Union said that the second biggest problem of the European Union is the situation in Gaza and “the international community suffered a moral and political failure in front of this problem.”

He claimed that in his opinion, the best solution to the war in Palestine is “a two-state solution, and this solution is much more difficult to achieve today than it was 30 years ago.”

According to Burrell, all these issues have caused “fear of European citizens and fear is a bad advisor.”

According to “Tass” news agency, the European Commission advised the Council of the European Union four days ago to start negotiations for Ukraine’s membership in the European Union. The European Union leaders will have to approve this process for Ukraine’s membership at their next meeting in December in Brussels.

The start of these negotiations does not lead to the determination of the deadline for Ukraine’s accession to the European Union; For example, the negotiation process related to Turkey’s accession to the European Union lasted for more than 18 years, and in relation to Ukraine, there is no prospect of completing the negotiations in the near future.

A few days ago, the Bloomberg network assessed that the European Union will not be able to fulfill its promise to supply one million cannonballs to Ukraine within a one-year period from March 2023 to March 2024.
