PNN – Informed sources revealed that the Sheikh of Al-Azhar, under severe pressure from high-ranking institutions in the Egyptian government, was forced to remove a statement he had issued about the humanitarian disaster in Gaza.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed, citing informed sources, revealed that Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar, was forced to remove a statement he had published about the humanitarian disaster in Gaza and the crimes of the Zionist regime against civilians, under severe pressure from high-ranking institutions in the Egyptian government.

According to these sources, this statement was considered to be in conflict with the current diplomatic policy of the Egyptian government and prompted an immediate reaction from the top authorities.

This statement was initially published in various media outlets, including platforms affiliated with Egyptian security institutions, but shortly afterwards, it was removed from the outlets by direct order from Al-Azhar, claiming that it was being reviewed and revised; an event that never led to its re-publication.

The aforementioned sources emphasized that the removal of the statement was against the internal will of Al-Azhar and was done at the explicit request of higher authorities. In direct contact with Ahmed Al-Tayeb, he was informed that the text of the statement could have negative diplomatic effects for Egypt due to its harsh and explicit tone, especially in the context of Cairo playing a mediating role in the ceasefire negotiations between Hamas and the Israeli regime.

The brutal crimes of the Zionist regime, especially the targeted policy of starving the defenseless people of Gaza, and shooting at refugee shelters and humanitarian aid distribution centers, constitute a full-fledged crime of genocide. Any individual, country, or institution that supports this regime with weapons, decisions, or even hypocritical silence is a direct partner in this disaster, and the day of reckoning before the absolute justice will undoubtedly come.

Al-Azhar, while expressing its sorrow over this tragedy, calls on all governments, institutions, and influential figures to take immediate action to curb this regime’s killing machine and open avenues for relief and treatment. It also denies any attempt to forcibly displace Palestinians and holds all supporters of this aggression responsible for the bloodshed and hungry stomachs.
