Cairo-Tel Aviv Relations: Imminent Conflict?

Relations between the Zionist regime and Cairo are weakening. Will a military conflict between this regime and Egypt occur? The tension between Egypt and the Israeli occupation regime is increasing day by day, and Tel Aviv’s military and political leaders do not hide their fear of a military confrontation with Egypt.

The newspaper added: The signed peace treaty between the parties is exposed to the storms that have swept the Middle East region. High-ranking sources in Tel Aviv emphasize that the “cold peace” between the occupiers and Egypt has reached its lowest level due to Israel’s successive attacks on Gaza and the mass genocide there.

In this regard, Colonel “Moshe El-Aad”, a prominent Israeli orientalist, warned about the deterioration of relations between the Zionist regime and Egypt and spoke of worrying evidence.

He told the Zionist media outlet Ma’ariv: Is Egypt moving towards a confrontation with Israel? Since the 2023 Gaza offensive, in conversations I have had with retired officers, analysts, and Egyptian media figures, most of them are not happy with the peace agreement with Israel and want to cancel it. Some have spoken so much against the peace treaty that they seem to be encouraging a military confrontation between the parties.

El-Aad spoke of worrying field evidence that shows a deep and widening rift between the parties.

Referring to Egypt’s harsh tone, the Zionist expert added: “Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi did not hesitate to use the term ‘genocide’ in Gaza. This terminology is not a cold peace, but rather a quasi-direct confrontation. Any breakthrough in Rafah or an attempt to move Palestinians towards Sinai will be a red line.”

According to him, “Significant military activity has been observed in Sinai, including the deployment of forces, defense systems, and logistical preparations. Even if these measures are considered purely defensive, the timing and scope of these preparations cannot be ignored.”

El-Aad said Egypt is presenting itself as the leader of Arab initiatives for the future of Gaza, while rejecting Israeli and international solutions.

The Zionist expert emphasized: A direct military confrontation between Israel and Egypt is not in the interests of either side. Although the likelihood of tension is currently low, tensions in diplomatic, political, civil, and even economic relations are high. Any political and military decision in the south (Gaza Strip) must take into account relations with Cairo. Egypt is in no hurry to burn the “bridge of peace”, but necessary measures must be taken to preserve the peace treaty.

Colonel Eli Dekel, a senior researcher at the Israeli military intelligence agency (AMAN), also spoke of the danger Egypt poses to the regime and warned about the lack of preparedness of the Israeli army in the event of a war with Cairo.
