Cairo’s tooth-crushing response to Tel Aviv’s claim about the Rafah crossing.

An Egyptian source told Al-Arabiya: “Those Gazans who are in Egypt will be allowed to return to Gaza. We will only accept the wounded and humanitarian cases from Gaza.”

The Egyptian source said: “The opening of the Rafah crossing will be in accordance with the rules and bilaterally. There will be no process of moving from Gaza to Egypt, and we demand the transfer of tents and shelters to Gaza. Egypt insists on not moving the Gazans. We will inform the Americans and mediators that we disagree with the Israeli statements.”

This comes while an Egyptian official denied Israeli media claims on Wednesday that there was coordination to open the Rafah crossing in the coming days to allow Gazans to leave.

An Israeli official claimed, “If Egypt does not want to accept Gazans, that is their problem. We will open the Rafah crossing to Gazans so that those who wish to leave Gaza can leave.”

This is while the Fatah movement has announced its strong opposition to the unilateral opening of the Rafah crossing, stating: The Security Council resolution emphasizes the two-way opening of the Rafah crossing. Israel is responsible for any action that consolidates the policy of displacement. Forced displacement from Gaza is unacceptable. Israel’s positions on the Rafah crossing are a breach of its obligations. We oppose the unilateral opening of the Rafah crossing.

“Cogat”, the Israeli coordination organization responsible for transferring aid to Gaza, had claimed that only Gaza residents would be allowed to leave to Egypt, and this would be in coordination with Egypt and the European Union.

It is worth noting that the Zionist regime is seeking to displace and empty Gaza of its residents in various ways, but the residents of Gaza, despite all the shortcomings, are standing up to this apartheid policy of Tel Aviv, which is being implemented with the green light of the United States.
