Canada, Australia, and New Zealand called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
According to the Palestine Information Center, the three countries of Canada, Australia, and New Zealand issued a joint statement calling for an immediate ceasefire and an end to the war in the Gaza Strip.
The statement said: There is an urgent need for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip for humanitarian reasons.
These countries strongly expressed their concern about the Zionist regime’s decision to attack Rafah on the ground. The statement said that any military operation in Rafah would be disastrous and would have devastating consequences for Palestinian civilians.
Yesterday, Wednesday, Spain and Ireland called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza to prevent further deterioration of the situation in Gaza and asked the European Commission to investigate Israel’s “human rights” case.
The two countries emphasized the need to continue the work and support of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) and added that the European Union’s commitment to human rights and human dignity cannot be an exception.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez said that his country and Ireland have asked the European Commission to review Israel’s adherence to its human rights obligations.
Meanwhile, the Gaza war has entered its 131st day as a result of ongoing negotiations in Cairo to reach an agreement that would lead to a ceasefire and exchange of prisoners, while the specter of a humanitarian disaster hangs over Rafah Sayeh.
