Canada recognizes the state of Palestine with 3 strange conditions.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced on Wednesday evening (local time) that his country intends to formally recognize the state of Palestine during the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in September 2025.

Carney, in a meeting with cabinet members held to review the humanitarian situation in the occupied territories, stressed that “the level of human suffering in Gaza is intolerable and Canada condemns the disaster that has occurred due to the policies of the Israeli government in Gaza.”

He added: “Canada intends to recognize the state of Palestine at the upcoming UN session.”

The Canadian Prime Minister, however, has three interventionist conditions, including that the decision is conditional on the Palestinian Authority holding general elections in 2026, in which the Hamas movement has no role. Also, another condition for Canada to recognize Palestine is the complete disarmament of this future state.
