Noting that a US military group consisting of an aircraft carrier and several carriers and destroyers is preparing to leave the Middle East, Ryder said: By sending more bombers, fighter jets and warships to the Middle East, the Pentagon plans to create conditions that will not reduce Washington’s military presence in the region after the fleet leaves.
The Pentagon spokesman also stated that Austin ordered the dispatch of several B-52 Stratofortress strategic bombers, a squadron of fighter jets, refueling planes and naval destroyers to the Middle East, adding: The arrival of new US military assets to the region will begin in the coming months, at the same time as the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln and its accompanying fleet begin to leave the Middle East and return to the United States.
Ryder considered these transfers and the movement of American military assets in the Middle East as a sign of the ability of this country to deploy its military in the shortest possible time in different parts of the world and emphasized: If a threat threatens personnel or military assets or US interests in the region, Washington will take all necessary measures to defend its forces and military assets.
According to the Associated Press, the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln and three US Navy destroyers belonging to the task force of this aircraft carrier are scheduled to leave the Middle East and return to their home port in San Diego by the middle of this month.
