During his trip to the region, he called the situation in the Gaza Strip very serious, dire and terrifying. Jon also called the possible large-scale ground operations in Gaza by the Israeli army and the armed battles in this area, which may extend to neighboring countries, as worrying.
China’s special envoy noted that Beijing will continue to maintain close ties with all parties and groups in the international community.
The Chinese diplomat is on a diplomatic tour of the region with the aim of trying to secure a route for the delivery of humanitarian aid to the occupied areas and to try to establish a ceasefire. In addition, he had a telephone conversation with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Palestine and Israel, as well as with representatives of the United Nations and the European Union, about the deterioration of the war situation in Gaza and the need to achieve a ceasefire and peace.
He added: China will continue to provide and deliver necessary aid to the people of Gaza through the United Nations and bilateral channels to help reduce humanitarian crises in the region.
Meanwhile, China’s special envoy was present at the Cairo peace meeting, which was held in Egypt on Sunday without a successful outcome.
In this meeting, he also called for an immediate ceasefire and an end to the conflicts between Israel and Hamas as soon as possible.
Jun Yaei added: China believes that the use of force is not a way to solve problems, and responding to violence by resorting to violence will only lead to a dangerous cycle of revenge.
