PNN – While the cease-fire in Gaza has not been realized despite the start of the holy month of Ramadan, and international concerns about the continuation of this war and humanitarian crisis still exist, China called for an immediate cease-fire and to ensure that the people of this region have access to humanitarian aid.
According to Pakistan News Network’s report on Wednesday, quoting from the Global Times newspaper, Chinese analysts say the US-led mediation was unfair to the Palestinians because a “temporary ceasefire” based on a prisoner exchange is unreliable and unstable. America’s unilateral approach and rejection of a ceasefire has derailed the UN Security Council mechanisms, which means that the conflict will continue.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said at a press conference on Tuesday that the current round of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict has lasted more than five months, which is longer than all the wars in the Middle East except for the first war in the region, and it has led to the martyrdom of many civilians, surpassing all previous conflicts in the Middle East.
According to the latest information from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, since the beginning of this war on October 7, 2023, more than 30,228 Palestinians have been martyred and about 71,377 Palestinians have been injured, mostly civilians. The United Nations estimates that around 1.7 million people are displaced in Gaza.

Wang Wenbin said: “The killing of civilians in Gaza must be stopped, the injustice against the Palestinian people must be removed, and the double standards in the field of dealing with human rights and international humanitarian laws must be abandoned.”
He added: The higher the flames rise in Gaza and the more human conscience is destroyed, the more the cornerstone of justice is eroded.
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China called on the international community to act quickly and establish an immediate ceasefire as a very important priority and humanitarian aid in Gaza as an important moral responsibility.
On October 7, 2023, the Palestinian resistance groups launched the “Al-Aqsa Storm” operation from Gaza against the positions of the Israeli regime, and finally, on November 24, 2023, a four-day temporary ceasefire was established between Israel and Hamas, or the pause for the exchange of prisoners between Hamas and Israel.
This pause in the war continued for seven days and finally on December 1, 2023, the temporary ceasefire ended and the Israeli regime resumed attacks against Gaza. In order to retaliate for the surprise attacks of the “Al-Aqsa storm” and to compensate for its failure and stop the resistance operations, this regime has closed all the crossings of the Gaza Strip and is bombarding this area.
