PNN – China expressed its support for the proposal to hold direct talks between Moscow and Kiev.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Russia Today, China, while supporting the proposal for direct negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, announced that it would welcome all efforts to resolve the Ukrainian war through a lasting peace agreement.
Russian President Vladimir Putin yesterday called on the Ukrainian government to resume direct talks between the two countries, which were abandoned in the spring of 2022. He added that a meeting could be arranged for next Thursday, hosted by Turkey, to this end. Ankara has agreed to the request.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said in his press conference today: The Chinese government supports all efforts to achieve peace and hopes that Russia and Ukraine will find a path toward a fair, sustainable, and binding peace agreement that is acceptable to both parties and achieved through dialogue and negotiation.
He added that Beijing has always supported a peaceful solution to the conflict and considers it the only possible way. He said that Beijing will continue to play a constructive role in de-escalating tensions.
Ukraine and NATO’s European members, who have formed the “Coalition of the willing,” have called on Russia to agree to a 30-day ceasefire before any direct negotiations.
However, US President Donald Trump has called for talks between Russia and Ukraine to begin as soon as possible, claiming that Washington has played its role in preparing the ground for diplomacy. Moscow has expressed concern that Ukraine could use the ceasefire to regroup and then resume fighting.
