PNN – The spokesperson of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the deployment of American missiles in the Philippines is a provocative and dangerous act, adding that the region needs peace and development, not medium-range missiles and creating tension.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network from the Global Times publication, Mao Ning, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, in response to the Philippine Army’s plan to purchase the US Typhoon medium-range missile system, described this action as a provocative and dangerous move.
He stated that the establishment of this system, which is both strategic and offensive, shows the cooperation of the Philippines with foreign forces to create regional tensions, and added: This decision of Manila leads to intensifying geopolitical confrontations, fueling the arms race and creating instability.

Mao described this action as very irresponsible for the people of the Philippines, Southeast Asian countries, history and the security of the region.
He said: The region needs peace and development, not medium-range missiles and confrontation.
The Chinese diplomat asked the Philippine authorities to listen to the voices of the countries in the region and their people, and by correcting this wrong decision, abandon the Typhoon missile system in accordance with their previous public commitments.
Mao also warned that continuing on this wrong path could have serious consequences for regional peace and security.
