China: US should choose dialogue instead of confrontation.
According to Al Jazeera, the official Chinese news agency quoted the country’s premier as emphasizing that no one will benefit from a trade war and that countries’ development will not be achieved by imposing customs tariffs.
Chinese Premier Li Keqiang also said: “We hope that the United States will communicate and talk with us instead of confronting.”
According to media reports, the Chinese premier made these remarks during a meeting with an American delegation headed by Republican US Senator Steve Deans and a staunch supporter of President Donald Trump in Beijing.
The meeting comes as Sino-U.S. relations have once again soured due to the Trump administration’s imposition of additional tariffs on Chinese goods.
Trump plans to impose a new round of tariffs in early April against all countries that have imposed tariffs on imports from the United States.
