PNN – China’s Foreign Minister warned the West about the consequences of using the trigger mechanism against Iran, saying: Such an action would destroy the results of years of diplomatic efforts to reach a nuclear agreement with Tehran.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi proposed a five-point plan to resolve the Iranian nuclear issue through political and diplomatic means.
He raised this plan in a meeting with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov and Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi, who are in Beijing for a trilateral meeting.
Stating that all parties should seek to establish a common, comprehensive, participatory, and sustainable security vision, Wang called on all parties to the Iranian nuclear issue to actively create conditions for the resumption of dialogue and negotiations and to refrain from actions that may escalate tensions.
The Chinese official also called for a balance between rights and responsibilities and attention to the implementation of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and the peaceful use of nuclear energy by countries.
Wang said: Iran must continue to uphold its commitment not to develop nuclear weapons, and all parties must fully respect Iran’s right to the peaceful use of nuclear energy as a signatory to the Non-Proliferation Treaty.
He called for reaching a new consensus based on the framework of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and said: China hopes that all parties will take steps to reach a consensus and resume talks and negotiations as soon as possible.

The Chinese Foreign Minister said: The United States should show political honesty and return to negotiations without delay.
While opposing the use of the UN Security Council to pressure other countries, Wang called for strengthening efforts to increase dialogue and cooperation between various parties.
The Chinese Foreign Minister pointed out that under the current circumstances, the Security Council’s hasty intervention would not only not help build trust, but would also increase disputes.
Wang called for caution in using the trigger mechanism on the Iranian nuclear issue, saying: Activating the trigger mechanism would destroy the results of years of diplomatic efforts.
The Chinese foreign minister also said that a step-by-step and reciprocal approach should be adhered to and consensus should be reached through consultation.
The Chinese Foreign Minister added: History has shown that dialogue from a position of power will never be the key to resolving complex issues, and only by maintaining mutual respect can all parties find common ground for cooperation that encompasses the legitimate concerns of all parties and achieve a solution in line with international expectations.
Mao Ning, spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, also announced at a press conference that representatives of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Russia, and China held an in-depth exchange of views on Tehran’s nuclear issue and emphasized in a joint statement that political and diplomatic interactions are the only effective and practical options for resolving this issue.
He added: These three representatives called on all relevant parties to refrain from imposing sanctions, political pressure, and military threats, and to avoid any action that would escalate tensions.
