PNN – At the same time that US President Donald Trump’s order to impose 10% tariffs against China came into effect, Beijing announced countermeasures to impose tariffs on some US goods.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing CGTN, the Customs Tariffs Commission of the State Council of China issued an official announcement on Tuesday, emphasizing that coal and liquefied natural gas (LNG) imported from the United States will be subject to a 15% tariff.
Also, a 10% tariff will be imposed on oil, agricultural machinery; heavy goods vehicles and vans imported from America, and these new tariffs will be implemented from February 10.

According to the Guardian newspaper, this new action by China is in response to Trump’s executive order on Saturday, which increased the tariff on imports from China by 10%. The new executive order of the President of the United States regarding the imposition of a 10% tariff was put into effect on Tuesday.
Also, China’s Ministry of Commerce announced a complaint against Washington in the World Trade Organization (WTO) after the US action.
The ministry assessed the imposition of additional tariffs by the United States as a serious violation of the World Trade Organization rules and emphasized that China is firmly against these actions and wants the United States to quickly correct its wrong actions.
According to the statement of the Ministry of Commerce of China, starting today, this country will impose restrictions on the export of tungsten, tellurium, bismuth, molybdenum and indium-related materials to the United States.
China’s Ministry of Commerce also announced that the country has decided to add clothing company PVH Corp and genetics company Illumina, Inc. to its list of untrustworthy entities.
