Chinese Foreign Minister: We support Palestine’s full membership in the United Nations.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Thursday at the annual meeting of the Chinese People’s Congress that the United States perception of China is wrong and Washington insists on this perception.
According to Euronews, he also added that despite the progress made following the November meeting between US President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping, Washington has not yet fulfilled its “promises”.
Wang also stated in this meeting: Exchanges between these two countries can only be established if the parties respect each other and come to a correct understanding of their differences.
The Chinese Foreign Minister added: It should be pointed out that the American side’s misperception of China continues and Washington’s promises have not been fulfilled. [The US] is constantly using new methods to suppress China and adding to its list of unilateral sanctions every day.
Wang also said that the list of “crimes” that the US wants to say that China has committed has reached an unbelievable level. This is despite Joe Biden still making it clear that the United States is not seeking a new Cold War, regime change in China, or even support for Taiwan’s independence.
In his speech, Wang Yi also called the Gaza war a “shame of human civilization” and while expressing China’s support for the full membership of “Palestine” in the United Nations, he said: “We support the full membership of Palestine in the United Nations and the members of the Security Council We want them to stop creating obstacles for this goal. A timetable and road map must be prepared to achieve a two-state solution.
