Chinese President: We strongly support the establishment of an independent Palestinian state

PNN – At the opening of the ministerial meeting of the China-Arab Cooperation Forum in Beijing, Chinese President Xi Jinping stated that we strongly support the creation of an independent Palestinian state and said: Beijing is ready to work with the Arab side to resolve issues in a way that supports the achievement of long-term peace and stability.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Reuters, in a speech addressed to the leaders of Bahrain, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Tunisia, as well as the foreign ministers of other countries of the Arab League, the President of China said: Beijing plans to strengthen its relations with Arab countries as a measure to maintain global peace and stability.

At the opening of the Ministerial meeting of the China-Arab Cooperation Forum in Beijing, Xi said: Beijing is ready to cooperate with Arab countries to resolve sensitive issues in ways that lead to the observance of fairness, justice and the achievement of long-term peace and stability.

The President of China further referred to the attack of the Zionist regime on the Gaza Strip and emphasized that the war that is taking place brings great pain and suffering and cannot continue indefinitely: Justice cannot be absent forever and the two-state solution cannot be shaken arbitrarily.

Xi also stated that China will participate in the reconstruction of Gaza after the end of the war, adding: We will support them to alleviate the crisis that the Palestinian people are currently facing.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China had previously announced in a statement that foreign ministers or representatives of Arab countries and the Secretary General of the League of Arab States will participate in the China-Arab Cooperation Council Ministerial Meeting hosted by Beijing.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and his Mauritanian counterpart Mohamed Salem Old Marzouk will co-chair this meeting.

According to the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, President of Egypt Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, President of Tunisia Qais Said and President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will participate in this meeting.

Established in 2004, the forum serves as an official dialogue initiative between China and the Arab League to discuss the initial multilateral coordination mechanism between the world’s second-largest economy and Arab countries.
