PNN – Chuck Schumer, the leader of the majority in the US Senate, announced on Thursday in an interview with an American media that he criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for saving Israel.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Schumer said in an interview with “Wall Street Journal”: I gave a lot of thought to this (criticism of Netanyahu) and its impact on US-Israel relations. The more I thought about it, the more convinced I was that not only was it the right thing to do, but I couldn’t forgive myself if I didn’t do it.
Pointing to the decline in support for Israel among Democrats, especially after Oct. 7, the US senator said he ultimately decided to give the speech because he was concerned about US support for Israel becoming a political issue.
He emphasized: “This was what motivated me. If Israel is ostracized, the probability of its survival will be very low.”

In a separate interview with the New York Times, Schumer once again criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and said: “Without American support, Israel’s future (regime) will end.”
One of Chuck Schumer’s spokespersons stating earlier that the US Senate Majority Leader has opposed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s request to hold an online video meeting and dialogue with US Democratic Senators, said: The request of the Prime Minister (regime) of Israel has been rejected by Schumer because this American senator does not believe in conducting such talks on a party basis.
Netanyahu’s request to hold an online video meeting with US Democratic senators came after a group of Democratic Party representatives in the US Congress criticized Netanyahu in recent days due to the high civilian casualties in the Israeli army’s attack on Gaza.
US President Joe Biden also supported Chuck Schumer, who strongly criticized Netanyahu and called for early elections in the occupied territories, and praised the positions of the Senate leader.
