According to the report of Pakistan News Network, “William Burns”, the head of the US Central Intelligence Organization (CIA), in a note written by the US, no longer has an “undisputed superiority” in the world’s strategic competitions.
Burns wrote in this note in Foreign Affairs magazine: “China’s rise to power and Russia’s confrontationalism present daunting geopolitical challenges in a world of intense strategic competition in which the United States no longer holds the undisputed supremacy.”
He further wrote: “The issue that complicates the story is not a revolution in technology, which is even more pervasive than the industrial revolution or the beginning of the industrial age.”

William Burns wrote in this note, the main focus of which is the need for transformation in the CIA in the era of competition with China and Russia: “Emerging technologies from microchips to artificial intelligence and quantum computing are transforming the world.”
The head of the CIA claimed that these developments have made the CIA’s work more difficult than ever in many ways, because they provide powerful new tools to US rivals.
In another part of this note, William Burns considered the current situation as one of the “rare moments” in the history of the United States, which is as important as the end of the Cold War or the period after September 11, 2001.
“We are in a time of historic challenges for the CIA and the intelligence profession as a whole, and geopolitical and technological developments are exposing us to the greatest tests we have ever faced,” he wrote.
William Burns recommended that the success of information affairs in the new era depends on creatively combining traditional methods of gathering information through humans with emerging methods.
