PNN – Steve Whittkoff, the US President’s special envoy, claimed that the United States has negotiated with Iran through Pakistani diplomatic channels.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Whittkoff said at a cabinet meeting of the Donald Trump administration on Thursday local time: I can report to you today that we, along with the foreign policy team, have presented a list of 15 actions that would form the framework for a peace agreement. This list has been circulated through the government of Pakistan, which is acting as a mediator.

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister has also confirmed that his country is playing a mediating role.

This is while the Iranian Ambassador to Austria, Salami, stated that no negotiations with the United States regarding a ceasefire are on the agenda, and clarified that the end of the war is contingent on a permanent cessation of aggression, guarantees of non-repetition, and payment of compensation for the damages inflicted on our country.

In an interview with the Austrian weekly Profil, Asadollah Eshraq Jahromi stated: This imposed war is not our war, but a war chosen by the US and the Zionist regime against our nation and country. We entered the field of diplomacy and negotiations with good intentions to prevent war and crisis in the region, but the US attacked Iran for the second time in the middle of the negotiations and betrayed diplomacy.

Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, also called the request for negotiations while continuing the aggression and sending military forces and equipment to the region to commit more crimes against the Iranian people a sign of contradiction in the behavior and words of the Americans, and pointed out that Iran did not initiate this imposed war and is defending its sovereignty, national security, and territorial integrity against the aggressors, and emphasized: It is expected that all countries in the region and the international community will responsibly condemn the aggressions and crimes committed by the United States and Israel and hold the aggressors accountable for their gross violation of international law and attack on Iran.

Whittkoff also claimed that the framework has so far “led to strong and positive messages and negotiations,” although he declined to provide details.

Whittkoff acknowledged that during our meetings with the Iranians, we heard this statement from them: The Iranians have an inalienable right to enrich.

Whittkoff added that the United States is in contact with several regional parties and others who want to play an effective role in bringing about a peaceful end to this conflict.
