PNN – Two European officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, claimed that Chinese companies, in a deal with Russia, are developing a deadly attack drone to help Moscow in its war against Ukraine.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network from Bloomberg news agency, Some European officials claimed that Chinese and Russian companies are developing an offensive drone similar to the Iranian witness drone; A claim that means Beijing is involved in providing deadly aid to Russia, and Western officials have repeatedly warned against it.
These two officials, who did not want their names to be revealed, continued to add to their claims that in 2023, these companies negotiated to cooperate on modeling the Iranian Shahid UAV, and this year they started developing and testing it in order to prepare and send it to Russia. At the same time, they emphasized that these drones have not yet been used in Ukraine.
This American news agency has then mentioned that China’s presentation of the attack drone to Russia, despite repeated warnings from Washington and its allies, shows Beijing’s increased support for Moscow.
The two officials also acknowledged that the U.S. has not yet concluded that China is sending lethal aid to Russia, although Washington’s interpretation may differ from that of other allies.
On the other hand, Liu Pengyu, the spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy in the United States, said in a statement in this context: China does not provide weapons to the parties to the conflict in Ukraine and strictly controls the export of dual-use goods.
He emphasized: It is clear to the international community who wants to talk and strive for peace and who incites war and increases conflicts.
British Defense Minister Grant Shapps also claimed in May that China is trying to provide lethal aid to Russia. But White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan responded that the United States has not seen China directly supplying Russia with weapons.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also said at the G7 meeting in Italy that Chinese President Xi Jinping promised him that he would not send weapons to Russia.
