Clashes near the presidential palace in the Sudanese capital.
According to Al Jazeera, field sources reported the expansion of clashes between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Reaction Forces this morning in the capital city of Khartoum.
The media also reported the recapture of a city in the state of “Sinnar” in southeastern Sudan by the country’s army.
These clashes come as the army approaches the presidential palace area and government headquarters in the center of the city from several axes.
In recent days, the battle in Khartoum has intensified as the army increases pressure on areas still under the control of the Rapid Reaction Forces.
In addition, the control of the Rapid Reaction Forces in the cities of the three states of Khartoum has decreased since the start of the Sudanese army’s military operation on September 26 last year, and the Rapid Reaction Forces led by Mohammed Hamdan (Hamidati) suffered a severe defeat in the state of “Al Jazeera”.
In the city of Omdurman, another important city in Sudan, heavy explosions were heard this morning due to mortar shelling, and medical sources announced that, according to initial statistics, a child lost his life and 7 others were injured as a result of this action.
In other developments, the army announced the recapture of the city of Dali in the state of Sennar in the southeast of the country.
In Darfur, in the west of the country, the emergency room in the Abu Shouq refugee camp north of the city of Fasher was bombed by the rapid reaction forces this morning, killing 6 civilians and injuring several others.
The Sudanese army announced that its forces are continuing their advance in the city of Fasher in the center of North Darfur state and are achieving new field victories.
Sudan has witnessed a fierce war between the Sudanese army and the rapid reaction forces since April 2023, which has resulted in the deaths of at least 20,000 people and the displacement of more than 14 million others.
