Coercive diplomacy against Lebanon: political, military, and economic pressure to disarm the resistance.

The United States, in cooperation with regional allies, is intensifying military, political and economic pressure on Hezbollah in Lebanon in order to fulfill the Zionist regime’s demand to disarm the resistance.

In this regard, while in the coming days, Thomas Barak, Trump’s ambassador to Ankara and his special representative for Syria and Lebanon, is scheduled to travel to Beirut to receive the Lebanese response to the US proposals to disarm the resistance.

The Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper wrote about this trip that the purpose of this trip is to negotiate US guarantees for the agreement to disarm the resistance, which is not only a concern of Hezbollah, but also of the Lebanese government.

The Lebanese government claims that it wants the disarmament process to be carried out in exchange for the Zionist regime’s withdrawal from the 5 occupied areas of southern Lebanon (which were occupied after the ceasefire of November 27, 2024) and permission to rebuild the south.
