PNN – UNICEF has warned about the spread of diseases in the Gaza Strip as well as malnutrition affecting thousands of children under the age of five.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Sputnik, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) said the risk of disease spreading among Palestinian children in the Gaza Strip has intensified amid the deteriorating humanitarian situation and harsh weather conditions.
UNICEF also stressed that residents of the enclave are in urgent need of humanitarian assistance, particularly warm clothing and tents for shelter. Delays in delivering this aid to Palestinians as temperatures continue to drop could put children’s lives at risk.
According to assessments conducted by UNICEF in the Gaza Strip over the past month, 9,300 Palestinian children under the age of five are suffering from severe malnutrition.
