US President Joe Biden announced on May 31 that Israel presented a new proposal to establish a ceasefire and exchange prisoners, which was presented to Hamas through Qatar, and called on the parties not to miss this opportunity and reach an agreement on this proposal.

The first phase: It lasts for 6 weeks, which includes a complete ceasefire, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from all populated areas of Gaza, the release of a number of prisoners, including women, the elderly and the wounded, in exchange for the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners. The remains of dead captives will return to their families. Palestinian civilians will return to their homes in Gaza neighborhoods, including in the north.
