PNN – India’s missile attack on Pakistani territory has drawn widespread reactions from political figures in New Delhi, with some praising the move.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Hindustan Times, an Indian Rajya Sabha member expressed his gratitude to his country’s armed forces and said: I congratulate the Army, Air Force and Defence Services. We have been the target of terrorism that is being produced in Pakistan for years.
Apeel Sibal claimed: Pakistan hosts terror factories like Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and must be confronted. Islamabad should not imagine that it can continue to support terrorism with impunity.
He emphasized: No one can enter Indian soil, take the lives of innocent people and escape punishment without accountability.
Nirmala Sitharaman, India’s Finance Minister also reacted to the operation on the social network X, writing: Operation Sindoor is a strong response by the Indian Armed Forces to terrorist camps in Pakistan. India will never tolerate terrorism.
On the other hand, A.K. Antony, former Indian Defense Minister, stated: This is the need of the hour. Pakistan-backed terrorists recently targeted tourists in Palgham and Operation Sindoor is a natural response to these actions. This is just the beginning and I will leave it to the army to continue.

He added: This is not the time for introspection or dissection. We must unite behind the Indian army and government and support them in the fight against terrorism.
The Indian government announced in a statement on Tuesday night that its army had targeted nine locations in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir, which officials said were terrorist bases, with missiles. The Indian army also said in a statement: We have struck a precise blow to the terrorist bases. Justice has been served.
The Indian Embassy in the United States also announced in a statement that New Delhi did not attack Pakistani civilian, economic, or military facilities during Operation Sindoor, and only targeted terrorist camps.
On the other hand, Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has confirmed that the country’s fighter jets and, at the same time, its air defense forces have succeeded in shooting down five Indian fighter jets after the Indian missile attack.
General Ahmed Sharif, spokesman for the Pakistani army, also announced in a press conference this morning that the response to New Delhi’s attack is still ongoing, adding that the death toll from the Indian attack in Pakistan has increased to 26 dead and 46 others injured.
The website of the French newspaper Le Figaro also quoted Indian police as saying that at least 12 people were killed and 38 injured following a Pakistani artillery attack on Poonch.
It is worth recalling that gunmen opened fire on a group of tourists in the tourist area of Palgham, located about 90 kilometers from Srinagar, the summer capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir, killing at least 27 people. Indian officials described the incident as a terrorist attack and alleged Pakistani involvement in the attack, and thus tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors on the subcontinent have entered a new phase.
