Consequences of the victory of the French nationalists in the European elections’
According to Reuters news agency, French President Emmanuel Macron announced the dissolution of the country’s parliament and the holding of early elections at the end of this month after the defeat of his party in the European Parliament elections from the right-wing French National Party led by Marine Le Pen.
Macron’s shocking decision is considered a big gamble 3 years before the end of his presidential term, because if the French National Party led by Le Pen succeeds in winning the majority of seats in the parliament, Macron will no longer have the power to implement the country’s internal policies.
Reacting to the statistical data about the victory of the nationalists in the European Parliament elections, Macron said: the result of this election is bitter for my government and cannot be ignored.
Now, according to the plans made only 2 months before the Paris Olympic Games, which is considered the biggest sports event in the world, France should witness parliamentary elections on June 30. If necessary, the second round of the country’s elections will be held on July 7.
In his speech, Macron emphasized: Now is a critical time for clarification. I hear your message French voters and I understand your concerns. I will address these concerns. France needs an overwhelming majority to act in peace and harmony.
The National Party of France won 32% of the votes of the people of this country in the European Parliament elections, which is more than twice the votes of Macron’s party (15%).
