PNN – The University of Florida, which cooperates with Ron DeSantis, a hard-line candidate for the US presidential election, in an anti-Palestinian action, ordered the colleges and educational institutions under its supervision to shut down a pro-Palestinian student organization.
According to Pakistan News Network, Reuters wrote that Florida is the first Republican state in America to declare this group illegal for supporting Hamas attacks against the Zionist regime.
The Florida State University system (consisting of several colleges and institutions) also announced that sections of the group Students for Justice for the Palestinians (SJP) were part of a “crackdown” of pro-Palestinian protests in the predominantly Republican state.
The Florida State University system has described these groups’ support for the Palestinians as “pernicious support for terrorist groups” and has attempted to dismantle them under the same pretext.

Ray Rodriguez, the president of this university, wrote in a note to the deans of the faculties under the supervision of this university: In consultation with Governor DeSantis, parts of this group will be closed due to SPJ’s support for terrorism.
According to him, this group is active in at least two Florida universities.
Since the attacks by Hamas and the blockade and bombing of Gaza by Tel Aviv, tensions between pro-Palestinian students and the Zionist regime have led to arrests and repression in American universities. Some American universities have criticized SIP because it called the Hamas attack a “historic victory of the Palestinian resistance”, called for resistance, and launched protests in more than 200 universities in Canada and the United States.
DeSantis, the Republican candidate for the 2024 elections, has adopted an extreme position against the Palestinians and claims that until Hamas releases the prisoners, the access of the citizens of Gaza to water and facilities should be cut off.
The Republican governor of Florida previously warned about the presence of Hamas supporters in the United States and demanded the cancellation of visas for foreign students who support the Palestinian resistance and Hamas. He asked the question, “What is happening in American universities these days?” He said that the visas of any foreign student who supports Hamas should be canceled and they should return to their country.
