Continuing the project of repression in the US/Trump seeks to expel Indian-American student who supports Palestine

PNN – While the arrest of foreign students in the United States began with the arrest of Mahmoud Khalil from Columbia University and sparked criticism, the administration of US President Donald Trump is also seeking to deport an Indian-American student under the pretext of supporting Palestine.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the Guardian newspaper wrote: The US government has detained a student studying at Georgetown University in Washington and is now seeking to expel him on the pretext of undermining US foreign policy.

According to a statement published by the American Fox News network, the US Department of Homeland Security has accused the student, identified as “Bader Khan Suri”, of having ties to the Hamas movement and claims that he promotes anti-Semitism and Hamas propaganda on social media.

The statement from the US Department of Homeland Security and its re-release by White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller did not mention any evidence to substantiate the allegations made against the student. The statement said that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has concluded that the student’s activities could lead to his expulsion.

The student, who lives in the United States on a student visa and is married to a U.S. citizen, was detained in Louisiana and is awaiting an immigration court hearing. Federal agents arrested him Monday night outside his home in Rosslyn, Virginia.

The case comes as Trump seeks to deport foreign nationals who have participated in demonstrations in support of Palestine and the Israeli regime’s war in Gaza.

Previously, “Mahmoud Khalil,” a graduate student at Columbia University’s School of Public and International Affairs, was arrested by agents of the US Department of Homeland Security at his residence on campus.

Trump’s actions have sparked protests from civil rights and immigrant groups, who accuse the US government of unfairly targeting political critics.

Earlier this month, the Trump administration detained Khalil for participating in pro-Palestinian protests and sought his deportation. Khalil has challenged his detention in court.

Trump has accused Khalil of supporting Hamas without providing evidence. However, Khalil’s legal team says he has no connection to Hamas.

Trump claims that supporters of the Palestinian people in America are anti-Semitic, but these supporters say that their criticism of the Israeli regime’s attack on the Gaza Strip and their support for Palestinian rights are mistakenly interpreted as anti-Semitic.

Trump has described pro-Palestinian protesters on American universities as “paid rioters,” claiming that many of them are not students and are rioters who carry out such actions in exchange for money.

He said: We will find them, arrest them, and deport them from the country so they never return here.

The US President had previously written in a message on his social media account called “Truth Social”: All federal funding for any college, school, or university that allows illegal protests will be stopped.
