PNN – An official from Iraq’s Coordination Framework coalition has announced the expected timeline for selecting the country’s new prime minister.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Al-Maalomah, Issam Shaker, a member of the Coordination Framework, said that the identity of Iraq’s next prime minister will be determined before January 9 (19 Dey).

He added that, based on the legal framework, Iraq’s fifth parliamentary term is still ongoing and will continue until January 8, 2026.
Shaker stated that the Coordination Framework is prepared to announce its nominee for prime minister by that date. He predicted that the formation of the new government will proceed quickly, especially given the important understandings reached with other political groups regarding the government’s program.
He emphasized that the Coordination Framework will decide the identity of the new prime minister and that additional candidates are expected to be proposed in the coming weeks.
