The ruling by a three-judge panel in the New York-based US Court of International Trade came after several lawsuits alleging that Trump’s so-called “Freedom Day” tariffs exceeded his authority and made the country’s trade policy subject to his whims.

On the other hand, Reuters added in this regard: This lawsuit, along with challenges from 13 US states and other small economic groups, is one of seven court challenges against Trump’s tariff policies.

It is worth noting that in the latest case of US courts overturning Trump’s sudden orders, a US federal judge temporarily blocked the implementation of a policy by the Trump administration that intended to deny Harvard University admission to international students. The top American university described the policy as part of Donald Trump’s broader effort to punish Harvard for refusing to surrender its academic independence.

The injunction temporarily gave thousands of international students who were at risk of transferring to other universities ample time. Harvard University called Trump’s policy a clear violation of the U.S. Constitution and other federal laws and warned that its implementation would have an immediate and devastating impact on the university and its more than 7,000 visa holders.
