New war budget approved in Israeli Knesset/The regime’s budget deficit will increase.

This is roughly equivalent to a 70 percent increase in the size of the military budget compared to before October 7.

This action comes at a time when, according to another report by the Haaretz newspaper, the Israeli army is facing a clear reduction in its forces and financial resources at a critical stage, especially as it is likely to be prepared for new rounds of attrition on multiple fronts.

The most important challenge facing the army, as Haaretz noted, is the decline in the number of personnel in professional ranks, with around 600 officers requesting early retirement, an indicator of the broader situation in units and formations affected by recent developments in the war.

In addition, the Personnel Administration has reported a shortage of about 12,000 combat soldiers, a shortage that is likely to increase as military exemption laws for “ultra-Orthodox” Jews continue. Reservists have also been informed that their call-up potential could increase by about 70 days over the next year.
