PNN – Israeli analysts have warned that a full occupation of Gaza would be a bigger mistake than the US’s mistake in Vietnam, while the Israeli army’s death toll has called into question the official narrative of the Netanyahu government.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, The increase in Israeli military casualties in Gaza has overshadowed Netanyahu’s meeting with Trump; while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with US President Donald Trump in Washington on Wednesday, news of the daily deaths of Israeli soldiers in the Gaza Strip diverted media and public attention from the meeting.
At the same time, criticism within Israel has intensified over the continuation of the war in Gaza. Israeli analysts have likened the war to “Vietnam” and warned that a full occupation of Gaza could be a bigger mistake than the US military’s mistake in the Vietnam War.
The Hebrew-language newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, in an analytical report written by Nadav Eyal, strongly criticized Netanyahu’s visit to the United States and wrote: What value is this visit when five other families are mourning their children killed in Gaza?

Eyal has emphasized that slogans such as “disarming Hamas” or “preventing its sovereignty” can only be realized if Gaza is completely occupied; but this scenario, in his opinion, would lead Israel into an endless “Vietnam quagmire.”
The author goes on to add that the statistics refute Tel Aviv’s official narrative, emphasizing that “Hamas has not been defeated.” According to Eyal, 38 Israeli soldiers have been killed since last March, an average of 10 per month. The highest number of casualties occurred in June, indicating that Hamas’s combat capability has not diminished.
Viall noted that the recent Hamas attacks took place less than two kilometers from the border fence in the Beit Hanoun area, areas that the Israeli army considered “safe.” He stressed that the attack demonstrates the complete failure of the so-called “security zone” strategy.
In another part of the report, the Israeli author, referring to the US mistake in disbanding Saddam Hussein’s army in Iraq, compared it to a similar mistake made by Israel in Gaza, writing: How can Gaza, without a government and an economy, not produce fighters? In a situation of complete collapse, the mobilization of youth against Israel is inevitable.
At the same time, another writer, Ranan Shaked, wrote in Yedioth Ahronoth with a scathing attack on Netanyahu: He is busy with campaign work, traveling to Washington and taking pictures with Trump while soldiers are being killed every day.
Shakida added: The Prime Minister has ignored the suffering of the families. Negotiations on the prisoners are progressing slowly, while 640 days have passed since the start of the war.
