DC water woes, Netanyahu to blame? No fix for resistance weapons.
The Lebanese newspaper Al-Bina reported, citing American media, that Washington is completing preparations for the visit of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the United States, and that the main issues of the trip are focused on reducing the level of tension on the fronts in Lebanon, Syria and Gaza.
These sources say that the US government has realized that it lacks a political option to end the issue of weapons of resistance groups in Lebanon and Gaza and cannot convince Lebanon, Syria and Gaza to accept the security framework desired by Tel Aviv in the border areas.
According to these sources, Washington is concerned that the increase in tension will disrupt the fragile atmosphere that has been created after the war.
According to the Al-Bina report, the analyses presented to the US government emphasize that any escalation of tension may lead the Israeli regime into a cycle that will accelerate war instead of preventing it; a situation that the US government will be unable to manage before the mid-term elections.
Meanwhile, the report adds that the only issue that Israeli officials have seriously put on Washington’s agenda is pursuing a pardon for Benjamin Netanyahu. According to the report, the Israeli Prime Minister has officially submitted a pardon request after the recommendation of American officials, and this issue will be one of the main topics behind the scenes in the talks being prepared with the White House.
Earlier, media sources had reported that Netanyahu would likely visit the United States on December 28. This will be Netanyahu’s fifth visit to the United States since Trump took office; a trip that, according to media assessments, could be linked to sensitive military and political developments in the region.
