Declining popularity of the Zionist regime’s ruling coalition

PNN – Polls show that the popularity of the ruling coalition in Israel has declined following the issue of the dismissal of the Shin Bet chief and the failure of the meeting between Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, according to the results of a survey conducted by the Lazar think tank and published by the Ma’ariv newspaper, the Zionist regime’s governing coalition has weakened this week and lost 4 seats. These results were made in the wake of the Israeli Supreme Court’s temporary ruling preventing the dismissal of Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar and the failed meeting between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump at the White House.

The newspaper reported: The main reason for this is the decline in the popularity of the Religious Zionist Party. The survey results also show that there have been significant movements within the factions this week.

The poll also shows that Naftali Bennett’s party has maintained its power and the Bennett-opposition camp have gained one more seat than in the previous poll.

In response to the question, “If new Knesset (Israeli parliament) elections were held today, which party would you vote for?” the answer was as follows:

According to the Ma’ariv newspaper, in the overall results of the poll, the government coalition camp won only 49 seats this week, compared to 53 seats in the previous poll, while the opposition camp won 61 seats, compared to 57 seats in the previous poll. Arab parties also won 10 seats, similar to the previous poll.

The results of the poll in response to the question of what would happen if a new party were to nominate Naftali Bennett as its leader without any changes in the other parties, were as follows: Bennett 29 seats, Likud 18 seats, Yisrael Beitenu 11 seats, Democrats 10 seats, Jewish Power 10 seats, Shas 9 seats, Yesh Atid 8 seats, Government Camp 8 seats, Torah Judaism 7 seats, Arab Change Movement 5 seats and Unified Arab List 5 seats.

In this scenario, the Religious Zionist Party with 2.4% and the National Democratic Rally Party with 1.8% did not reach the quorum.

In another part of the survey, in response to the question of whether the cabinet will choose a new head for the Shin Bet, despite the fact that the Supreme Court is against this and calls for an innovative solution after Eid al-Fitr, the results were as follows: Yes, they will choose: 47%, No, they will not choose: 32%, I don’t know: 21%.

Since the beginning of the Israeli military attack on the Gaza Strip in October 2023, deep cracks within the political, military, and social structure of the regime have become increasingly apparent. Many political figures, former army commanders, and former security officials, especially after a few months of the war, have considered Benjamin Netanyahu’s policies to lack strategic vision and described them as an attempt to preserve personal power in the face of judicial threats.

The widespread public protests against Netanyahu’s cabinet, which began long ago following his efforts to weaken the Israeli judicial system, have taken on new dimensions as the Gaza war continues. Families of prisoners have repeatedly called in the media and at protest rallies for an immediate end to the war and the return of the prisoners, while Netanyahu and his inner circle insist on continuing the military operation.
