Deep rift between the cabinet and the Israeli army; Tel Aviv in the Gaza quagmire.

According to Al Jazeera, following the widening of differences and rifts between the Israeli cabinet and the military establishment in the wake of the chaos created in the Gaza war and the continuation of this war of attrition without achieving its declared goals, observers of affairs are unanimous that the growing rift between the cabinet and the Israeli army reflects the deep crisis resulting from the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip and the failure of the cabinet of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the occupying regime, to achieve its declared goals, especially the return of Israeli prisoners from Gaza and achieving absolute victory.

Experts on military and strategic affairs in the region describe the current situation in the Gaza war as a multifaceted stalemate for the Zionists, with no definite signs of military victory. This is while the war is rapidly depleting the Israeli army, society, and economy, and in addition to failing in its war mission, it also threatens to collapse the cabinet itself.

Zionists’ Struggling in the Gaza Quagmire

In this regard, Brigadier General Elias Hanna, an expert in military and strategic affairs in the Arabic language, stated in an interview with Al Jazeera that the Zionist regime’s army has so far failed to achieve its political and military goals. The Zionist prisoners are still in the hands of the resistance, and the military attacks of the occupying army to free these prisoners have had the opposite results and have failed, like all previous military efforts of the regime.

This Arabic language expert added: The Zionist regime’s strategy has changed many times during the war, and despite the heavy casualties that the regime’s army has suffered, the main goals of the war have not been achieved. Meanwhile, the Palestinian resistance is carrying out continuous attrition operations that complicate the field and political calculations of the occupiers.

On the other hand, Dr. Muhannad Mustafa, an expert in Zionist affairs, announced that the occupying regime is caught in an ambiguous situation and is stuck between not achieving a military victory and the impossibility of ending the war with a political agreement. This situation puts the army and the cabinet in a constant dilemma, and Hebrew circles are also talking about drowning in the Gaza quagmire.

He emphasized: Given the lack of a plan to exit the war and the inability to achieve the goals declared by the Zionist regime, this situation cannot last long and will plunge the Zionists into chronic fatigue, which will negatively affect the regime’s internal security, economy and society. At the same time, the hostility of the Zionist society towards Netanyahu and his partners is also increasing.

Liqa Maki, a senior researcher at the Al Jazeera Center for Studies, also stated: The Zionist regime has entered a war in which it is not able to control the path and outcome. Netanyahu himself knows that he is unable to achieve his declared goals in the war, including the destruction of Hamas; rather, the persistence of the resistance in Gaza imposes new paths on the war and weakens Tel Aviv’s discourse and narrative.

He stated: “Israeli estimates, such as those published by the Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, confirm that Hamas still maintains its military capability and shows no signs of collapsing. Hebrew circles also warn that the increasing political, moral and economic costs of this war may force Washington to put real pressure on Tel Aviv to stop the war.”
