According to the report of Pakistan News Network, quoting from Hill’s website, pointing out that he is not confident that Biden will be able to defeat former US President Donald Trump in the country’s presidential election in November, Moulton said: Biden should withdraw from the election race and allow new leaders to emerge in the Democratic Party.
The Democratic representative of the US Congress stated that Biden has done a great service to the United States and added: But now the time has come for him to step in the footsteps of George Washington as one of the founding fathers of America and step down so that a new generation of democratic leaders can rise up and compete with Trump.
Referring to Biden’s poor performance in his last week’s debate against Trump, he noted: In my conversations with hundreds of Democratic politicians, everyone is worried that Trump will make the most of Biden’s poor performance in that debate to win the 2024 US presidential election.

Moulton emphasized that after the end of the debate between Biden and Trump, the Democrats have entered into serious discussions about the necessity of Biden’s resignation: We need to follow a careful process that will lead to the rise of new leaders in the Democratic Party and find a suitable replacement for Biden, but the most important issue is that we must win the 2024 US presidential election.
Continuing his speech, referring to the speculations about the introduction of Kamala Harris as the new candidate of the Democratic Party in the 2024 US presidential election, he said: I am not sure about this issue and nothing has been determined yet.
In an interview with local radio station WAUK in the north-central state of Wisconsin, Biden said of his debate with former President Donald Trump and his opponent for the November 5 election: I had a bad night and the truth is that I failed and I made a mistake, but this is only 90 minutes of debate behind the podium. Look at what I have done in three and a half years.
Meanwhile, White House spokesperson Karin Jean-Pierre denied the report published in the New York Times earlier in a press conference with reporters at the White House, and in response to the question whether Biden is considering withdrawing from the presidential election? he said: “Definitely not”.
Trump has been one of the prominent figures of the Republican Party since 2016, when he became the President of the United States for the first time, who lost to his Democratic rival Joe Biden in the 2020 election.
