Democrats invest in getting Americans abroad to participate in the 2024 election

PNN – The American “CBS” website wrote in an article today: Democrats have started a special investment for the participation of voters living outside the United States in the presidential elections of this country.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, “CBS” reported that while the Democratic Party estimates that about 1.6 million Americans living abroad are from key so-called “battleground” states, the party is seeking the participation of non-U.S. voters for the first time in the 2024 presidential election.

According to details shared with CBS News, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) is investing $300,000 to reach overseas voters, both military and civilian.

This investment is to help the so-called “Democrats Abroad” organization; The official association of Democrats that provides registration [providing address, etc. to verify eligibility to run for office] and assistance to civilian voters living outside the United States, including American students.

According to the Elections and Voting Office survey, 1.25 million of the 5 million military and other Americans of voting age living outside the United States registered to vote in the 2020 election.

The “Democratic National Committee” believes that more than 1.62 million American voters abroad are from key “battleground” states, i.e. the states of Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, which are the focus of the election campaigns in the US presidential elections.

Roger Lau, deputy executive director of the Democratic National Committee, stating that “Every vote counts”, said: Democrats are leaving nothing to chance and are investing heavily with our party abroad to ensure that every American citizen makes a difference in this election.

On the other hand, Martha McDevitt-Pugh, president of the “Democrats Abroad” association, stated: Since President Joe Biden withdrew from his candidacy on July 21, the number of Americans abroad who have registered to vote at votefrombroad.org has increased by 100 percent.

Americans will go to the polls on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 to elect the next president of the United States. The winner of this election will start the four-year presidential term from January 2025.
