PNN – Following the Israeli Supreme Court’s ruling against Benjamin Netanyahu regarding his refusal to implement the compulsory military service law for Haredi (Orthodox) Jews and the regime’s military’s move today to register them, Haredi youth took to the streets and announced that they were unwilling to go into “conscription.”
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, reports from the Zionist newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth indicate that the “Hashmonaim Brigade”, a special brigade for Orthodox Jewish conscription, took action on Tel Hashomer Street in Tel Aviv to register those eligible and announced that among the Haredi youth, about 70 regular soldiers and 110 reservists will be recruited into the regime’s army for combat training.
This action comes as Haredi protesters gathered on this street to demonstrate against compulsory service and blocked the roads leading to this base in an attempt to disrupt the Israeli army’s recruitment program.
Yedioth Ahronoth wrote: The protesters, lying on the street floor, prevented vehicles from moving and caused heavy traffic on the surrounding streets. This media added: Protesters held posters with inscriptions such as “We will not commit suicide,” “There is hell,” and “They are Nazis” and chanted slogans.
In this regard, the security forces’ confrontation with these individuals and the arrest of some of them on this street turned violent, and some of the protesters were arrested.

According to a report by Yedioth Ahronoth, the first company of the Hashmonaim Brigade was inaugurated about four months ago with 60 regular soldiers and 120 reservists, and these soldiers will join the soldiers currently engaged in the Gaza war after completing six months of combat training.
Also, those who sign up for the military today will begin their combat training if they reach the quorum and complete the recruitment of Haredi members.
According to the commanders of this brigade, the combat training of Haredi youth in the military will be carried out in accordance with the laws and lifestyle of Orthodox Jews.
The Zionist newspaper wrote: Despite recruiting dozens of Haredi youth, the regime’s army continues to seek to recruit more Haredi combat troops. According to the brigade’s commanders, the army must recruit 4,800 of them annually, yet it is still far from this target.
Last week, Avigdor Dickstein, head of the Haredi section of the Israeli army, announced that 18,915 people have been called up to register for compulsory service, but only 232 of them have registered.
In this regard, yesterday, the Israeli Supreme Court issued a conditional ruling ordering Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to explain his refusal to implement the draft law requiring Haredi youth to be conscripted into the Israeli army in accordance with its needs, and to explain why he has not yet imposed effective punishment on those who do not obey this law.
