Details of new Gaza ceasefire proposal revealed’

While US President Donald Trump reiterated his claim on Tuesday evening that a ceasefire in Gaza is imminent and announced that Israel is finalizing a 60-day ceasefire proposal, some Hebrew and American media outlets have published details of the proposal.

Ambiguity over the cessation of hostilities and the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza

In this regard, the Israeli 10 TV channel reported, citing two anonymous diplomats, that within the framework of this agreement, 8 living Israeli prisoners will be released on the first day and another two living prisoners will be released on the 50th day of the agreement, and the bodies of 18 dead Israeli prisoners will be released in three stages.

The Israeli media outlet reported that, according to the new proposed agreement for a ceasefire, the Israeli army will withdraw from the Morag axis in the southern Gaza Strip and will increase the flow of aid to the Gaza Strip. Sources familiar with the ceasefire talks say that significant progress has been made in reaching an agreement, but there are still disagreements over the terms of the cessation of hostilities and the extent of Israel’s military withdrawal.

The American network CNN also reported in this regard that Qatari officials on Tuesday delivered a new proposal for a 60-day ceasefire to Hamas and Israel, which, according to a source familiar with the matter, is supported by the Trump administration. The source said that the proposal was finalized after months of behind-the-scenes efforts led by Steve Whittaker, Trump’s special envoy to the region, and was presented on the same day that Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer traveled to Washington to meet with senior Trump administration officials.

However, a Zionist source announced in this regard that Israel has not agreed to the terms of several new proposals that revolve around a timeline and guarantees for an end to the war, which are the same important and controversial points in previous negotiations.

The source did not provide details on the updated terms of the offer, but said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may send a delegation to participate in the Gaza ceasefire talks after meeting with Trump.

Hamas and the Israeli regime’s stance on the new ceasefire proposal

CNN, citing another source, reported that the new version of the ceasefire proposal that the Qataris have been working on seeks to address Hamas’ concerns about the terms of the previous proposal. According to the new proposal, several Palestinian prisoners will be released in exchange for Israeli prisoners.

The American website Axios also reported, citing a senior Israeli official, that Whittaker and Dermer discussed Qatar’s revised proposal for a ceasefire and prisoner exchange in Gaza during a meeting at the White House on Tuesday. Ron Dermer informed Whittaker of Israel’s agreement to the proposal and its willingness to begin indirect talks with Hamas to complete the agreement.
In the same context, the Hebrew website Ynet also reported yesterday, citing what it described as sources close to Hamas, that the movement’s leaders are reviewing the draft ceasefire and that consultations and deliberations are underway on the revised proposal presented by the mediators.
